I am speaking in my ward next week on gratitude. What does gratitude mean to you? Do you have a story about gratitude? How should I start my talk?

I want to get your thoughts on what you think gratitude is. Please e-mail me or leave me a comment! Thanks!

  1. You are probably already looking at this but…..

    An Attitude of Gratitude
“This is a wonderful time to be living here on earth. Our opportunities are limitless. While there are some things wrong in the world today, there are many things right, such as teachers who teach, ministers who minister, marriages that make it, parents who sacrifice, and friends who help.

“We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues” (Thomas S. Monson, “An Attitude of Gratitude,” Ensign, May 1992, 54).

And I don’t know how to incorporate this but it might be my favorite…………

“No misfortune is so bad that whining about it won’t make it worse. (Apr 2007 Gen Conf)”
    ― Jeffrey R. Holland

  2. My brothers and sisters, do we remember to give thanks for the blessings we receive? Sincerely giving thanks not only helps us recognize our blessings, but it also unlocks the doors of heaven and helps us feel God’s love.

  3. How sad it would be if the phone and computer, with all their sophistication, drowned out the simplicity of sincere prayer to a loving Father in Heaven. Let us be as quick to kneel as we are to text.
